Was supposed to run Xincheng-Nan’ao today, but hit a traffic control point about 6km north of my homestay and decided to turn around. I’m not sure if I would have technically been allowed to run this section or not. I believe there is traffic control at 10am, 12pm, and 5pm that allows cars through, but honestly I just wanted to get past this part of Taiwan. Had no interest in running along the Suhua highway when there are a hundred earthquakes hitting in a day 😂 Ran significantly faster today for three reasons: 1. Lighter vest: I ran in a loop, so I was able to leave my gear at my homestay. That extra 1-2lbs of gear really does slow me down 2. I was extremely anxious to get the run done with and get to the train station, before potentially more heavy rain, earthquakes, landslides, and train closures hit. 3. These were repeat miles, so I didn’t have to be checking google maps, plus I basically just did one big out and back. So I knew the road from yesterday and knew there were lots of 7/11’s 😂 👏 Also, made the national news! 🎉 🎉 🥳 🥳
